I have friends and colleagues I care deeply about that will be negatively affected by this... and I still support it! Canada needs to prioritize its citizens and it continues to fail to do this in so many sectors. It succeeds in others but food and job insecurity, and then housing, are massive issues in this country that could easily be avoided if the government stepped in. It doesn't matter what your political views are - take care of the citizens, even if it hurts people you care about that aren't citizens.

My neighbours daughter was denied a employment from an establishment which is frequented by all and was told if she doesn't speak Hindi she cannot be hired. I told her to report them to the government and the HO of the company. I will not say which company but I'm sure someone can guess the establishment in less than 3 guesses

Doesn't matter. There are groups of different nationalities migrating every dofferent global event that impacts them wanting to leave their home country. The world can be a better place. People in power don't want it to be. That's that.

Sometimes I don’t understand why people create content online that highlights specific communities or cultures in ways that can reinforce stereotypes. Just because someone belongs to a certain background doesn’t mean they represent everything shown on social media. Content like this can make others form generalized opinions, which can feel unfair and frustrating for individuals who don’t relate to those portrayals. The internet gives everyone a platform, but with that comes responsibility. Before creating content about communities, it’s important to remember that cultures are diverse and complex, and no single video can define them. At the end of the day, being respectful and human should come first. Which ethnicity you belong to , I can find 1000 flaws in your ethnicity. Just be humans . Canadian here. No, no it doesn't "divide" our great country. Where was France 24 in 2024 when our transit and hospital systems where overwhelmed by foreign students, the vast majority with very rich parents?

This documentary starts on a very partisan note, but it doesn't end on one. I don't speak for all Hindus, but when I lived in Australia, my values told me to integrate and treat everyone equal. Now I am back living in India with a global perspective and renewed respect for world cultures. Yes, Canada has had a lot on unchecked unskilled immigration which is bound to cause issues- but I'd like to believe, and my Hindu faith teaches me, that people are inherently good.

There are lots of programs across Canada, if Quebec doesn't many French and English speakers can move to another province easily. I don't understand the protest. As a migrant, I believe we don't need to protest the host country of their migration

I don’t have an issue with immigrants living in Canada. All I ask is that people who move here actually care about Canada and treat it like home. Language takes generations to develop, so that part doesn’t bother me at all.

I'm sorry, but if an individual is making <$57,000/yr they are NOT middle class; particularly with the current cost of living crisis in Canada. That income level is where middle class begins, so anything less than the $57k/yr is considered lower class. So, again, another indicator that the Canadian government doesn't actually care about the middle class and is fine seeing it dwindle further.

I LOVE Indians. They're great and amazing people. The concerns are influences and ideology, as what's currently ongoing in the west - but doesn't have to do with them, necessarily much at all. I typically do not agree with a lot of what the conservatives say, and I usually do not like anything that Michelle Rempel Garner says (or the way she says it). However, what she said here, and the way she said it, makes complete sense. I was a bit disappointed that there are no actual numbers as to how much the government would save, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea to put the legislation in place, and whatever they save is a bonus. imho Be the Change You Wish to See in the World 💖
