When the railway was completed, they offered them British citizens including those born in Uganda. The colonial British gave them business loans, including Indian banks to extend credit and loans to Indians without surerities. They were allocated colonial govt freehold land for free in the most prime areas of uganda major cities like Kampala, Jinja, Masaka, Mbale, Soroti, Mpigi, Tororo etc while black Ugandan indegenous people were pushed into the rural areas to work in factories, mines and businesses set up for British Asians. He killed the Anglican Archbishop Luwum, he killed the 1st Ugandan Chief Justice Ben Kiwanuka. He was brutal BUT, every Ugandan is celebrating his nationalism of caring for ordinary people AND opening their eyes on trade and business by KICKING OUT economy sacking British Asians. This is history I saw and followed because i was a kid in primary school at the time 1972. In addition to that Indians in Uganda were so arrogant to indegenous Ugandans, I experienced it. So when i see how Canadians resent them I dont feel for them unfortunately. I already had enough on my plate in Canada. Indians were the owners of biggest to smallest shops in major cities and town in Uganda because of free capital and soft loans, financed business premises thru the colonial British suckers. They showd that arrogance which pissed most of the indegenous Ugandans. For example if you went to a shop and burgained on a KG of sugar or bread, or shirt, and didnt get fail to buy because you dont have that much or failed to get a good deal, the Indian shopkeeper would insult any Afriacn in Indian- Luganda accent " oba tayagala genda malala jali..mali ya nyoko?". meaning " If you dont want to buy go, others are there will buy, is this your capital/ stock?". Many songs were sung after the 1972 kickout depicting that phrase/ quote.

You’re being very selective with information. It feels like you’re asking leading questions just to get the answers you already want. That’s not good journalism. Journalism should aim for objectivity, not push a specific ideology. And calling this an “INVASION”? That’s simply wrong. I lived in Montréal in an area with many Indian residents. They’re respectful, hard-working, have families, jobs, and contribute to society like anyone else. They don’t interfere with religion or ideology. Just tonight, during a snowstorm, an Indian neighbor came out of his home to help me clear snow off my car — purely out of kindness. That’s reality on the ground, and it deserves to be reported honestly.

I heard why the government did the immigrants wrong. I was talking to an uber driver and my pharmacist. They told me the promises of luxury in Canada has and offered for them to live a better lives. They didn't know after they came here for work and or college/university they become in major debt. They said that they're in a luxury debt and never getting out of debt knowing that they're stuck in Canada and can't be allowed to leave unless they pay off the debts. That's 100 % wrong to do that to people when they know they don't feel welcomed and want to go home. I'm a metis Canadian and I had to leave Ontario to find affordability and miss my home. GOVERNMENT THIS IS YOUR FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT! Let them go home in debt. You made this mess. FIX IT! Including the baby boomers that made the problem started 8 % rate interests to buy houses. That was a mistake that should be bought 1 house and nothing else. I forgot to add something. The uber driver told me that india doesn't know that it's a debt luxury trap that you can't leave unless you pay your debt. He felt alone and found some people and the internet to make himself feel better temporary. TEMPORARY! He hates it here, but he respects Canadians. He feels sorry for the new ones that are coming to become debt trap. It's the same for the pharmacy. She got into college to be a pharmacy and bought the store. She is on low income but doesn't qualify for any supports like benefits to pay off her medical things. The reason she can't because they'll see the pharmacy store is income. Wait what? So she doesn't quilify for benefits because she's making income to pay off her massive loan to do her job. It's not enough to live by as what she told me. She also does misses home, but also traped in luxury debt. This is what I have learned so far. I went through a car accident and coudln't get out of the car. I thought in Brampton, Ontario was the rudest people on the planet, but was saved by the angels of indian people saved me out of the vehicle from the smoke. I still thank you! There is still good people out there and some are stupid people out there. Keep it up because being kind gets you to be positive to others and make things better when the world is fcked right now.

Immigration has increased because the government needs more people for the economy. The population 25+ years ago was enough to keep with the costs and demand. Now, Canada probably has a lot of demand and needs an influx of people both for education and jobs. Indians are enticed to come because they hear about towns that cater towards Indians like Brampton. Chinese people used to be the majority of immigrants and that was because Chinatowns would cater to them. Not to mention, these immigrants likely have temporary worker or student visas. These an whole thing with the student visas but I don't want to get into it. So Amazon and other large companies need a lot of workers for their demand and look outside of Canada to fill the job numbers. Meanwhile, Canadians that have been here for awhile are on the streets and jobless. So basically, Canada needs immigration for its demand but I think when too many people come all at once and from usually one country, Canadians will notice the change and feel the tensions that come with it.

Afraid. Not asleep. People see hear and feel it. The media are helping the GOVT hide that they have lost control and the host is the hostage. That Indian guy is right What are you going to do about it. Nothing and they know it. So maybe this is the shot across the bow letting us know its going to be that way whether we want it to or not.

My parents immigrated in the early 90s and I was born in Canada. It’s very hard to relate to the new immigrants in the last 10 years because we’re so different. The families that immigrated in the 80s and 90s had to assimilate and become “Canadian” which in hindsight was for the best. I learned about my culture and language at home, but my parents, emphasized the importance of being “Canadian first” and being a part of society and “fitting in.” This wasn’t at all a bad thing. I learned to ski, skate, make ice lollies with snow and syrup, went camping, played sports… I feel embarrassed when Indians are looked at in this light, but its true. 90% of this new wave of immigrants on “student visas,” dont intend to actually obtain any sort of an education, instead they use it as a pathway for permanent residency. I know this because I have relatives who say this out loud behind closed doors. I don’t agree with any of it, and quite frankly it’s very embarrassing, but most of us first generation Indian Canadians feel very upset about how its all played out and the negative light in which our people are now viewed under. Personally, I agree they arent interested in becoming culturally Canadian, they just want to be in Canada for financial reasons. They stay in their groups, dont integrate and think somehow this will play out well. It isnt discrimination when your own people also feel this way. I have yet to meet a first gen Canadian who disagrees
