Only my heritage is Indian (4th generation in Australia - my great grandparents came here) so obviously I present as one. Of course every South Asian person I meet despises FOBs because they're literally the problem for all of this. Lack of assimilation, lack of civic sense, lack of fucking common sense. Of course this makes my blood boil. But what I'm genuinely tired of? The endless discrimination. I've lost count how many people profile me or treat me like garbage until we have a 20 second conversation, they hear my accent and I watch in real-time as their body language and frown disappears. It's like watching racism disappear like a light switch. So let me ask all of you a question - how should people like myself, born and raised here handle this? It doesn't end. Everyday, there's a new comment from a new person, another racial slur, another person throwing a bottle at me from their car as I'm walking, another passerby getting aggro at me for no reason, another form of insanity. How should regular people like myself handle this or deal with this? No trolling.

It should be mandatory for immigrants to assimilate. English should be mandatory. And for heavens sake, ban slipper wearing mofos inside the malls. This ain’t 3rd world. I don’t wanna see your toes while I go shopping! It’s nasty!

IDK I wouldn't mind a Sikh or Hindu immigration problem, as long as they all eventually assimilated to the Canadian way of life. They should be happy they're not Muslim refugees. Though I notice they have those undesirables in Canada as well.

Crazy how this is happening world wide. Towns cities completely full of migrants that don’t assimilate and they’re all identical. More crime, more rubbish, nothing but entitlement. Roll on the day these countries take their own land back.

Oh we have a similar problem in Poland. Ukrainians evreywhere! They are not assimilating at all. Ukrainian bussinesses just for them, they don't even want to learn our freaking language. This is super disrespectful. We provide them safety and in return they are making a small Ukraine within our beautiful country I refuse to accept this.

Oh the IRONY! If you aren't First Nations, you ARE an immigrant. Why don't you actually all make an effort to learn at least a few words in our languages; the ACTUAL languages of Our country 🙄. India is called the 3rd world and 'Developing World' for a reason, after all. Many of them bring their bad habits with them all the time as well and make the rest of us actual civilized, well educated, assimilated and caring Indians look bad. Just watch all the different "Indians litter" and "India sucks" videos and shorts out there. Too many Indians bring their bad habits and couldn't care less about Western values and basic, humane principles.

Most of this issue is caused by north Indians who find it hard to assimilate especially the Sikhs. And the issue was caused by the canadian government who prioritized quantity over quality. As an indian immigrant there are times I feel disgusted by their behavior. Due to this behavior the nicer Indians who hold up canadian values are getting the same discrimination. Me myself is a catholic indian who had to leave the country because of the religious bullshit caused by north Indians. We were not even allowed to have a peaceful Christmas in India. As I moved to Canada I faced more racism from north Indians as I eat beef and pork and dont speak hindi. It breaks my heart everytime when I get discriminated from people thinking that i am a punjabi. I just want to live a normal life and follow my faith. Its sad that they dont let us live peacefully in india and in Canada.

As an indian, i am seeing this in Australia as well. We are indian immigrants, and i include all from South asia. We are too racist, dont assimilate ansld are self righteous. High time such people are sent back. They are a disgrace to image of Bharat as well.

Oh, we are pissed at the government but we are also mad at the immigrants who don't bother to assimilate, integrate. Who come here bold enough to demand changes on OUR culture because THEY are offended in OUR land! It's ABOUT TIME someone starts talking about Indians invading and destroying beautiful places. I'm in the US, in a very affluent area of New Jersey, and we've had to move 3 times because Indians find the beautiful communities, overwhelm them - with too many people in one house, too many loud/unruly children, leaving piles of shoes on doorsteps, using beautiful yards and terraces as junk storage/laundry drying areas, making everything smell and look terrible because they have no class and their food smells permeate other people's homes as well at the outdoor air... They turn luxury developments into Indian slums and nobody's talking about it because they're afraid to sound racist. I have almost every race in my own family. So I KNOW I'm not racist. I just find it intolerable that there aren't more laws in place to protect lovely American communities from being overrun by non-assimilating Indians or any other immigrant population.

Nothing wrong with indians moving to another country, but moving to canada for a better life and ruining life in Canada is disgusting, forcing you're culture and to be like you is disgusting, if you're gonna move to canada, you have assimilate and accept canadian culture and respect it cause you can treat it the same as you're country, it's a bloody different country, stop trying to make it india if you wanna live there.

Those people aren't Canadian. They're different nationalities who are "fleeing" their war torn countries that are coming to take over Canada. Canada used to be a wonderful place. My family moved there in 1977 and moved out in 1984. I stay far away from Brampton with the non assimilated Indians on the roads and London with the crazy drug addicts all over the sidewalks .

Hate to say it, but bike guy is right. I work in a (genuinely) diverse area and African men are by far the worst customers. Incredibly condescending, interrupt me constantly, and if they have a wife/girlfriend with them, they're constantly berating her. I've found Indians are cheap but generally polite, the biggest problem is that there's just too damn many of them and they don't assimilate, so you become a stranger in your own hometown when they move in. I remember looking for a place to get takeout around my boyfriend's house and it was literally 90% Indian food, 10% pizza with butter chicken and tandoori toppings.
