Why not put the millions of people you already brought into this country to work building houses instead of working at Walmart or fast food joints or delivering trucks. I agree with the comments of the immigrant contributors. You come here for a better life, that’s why you left your country. Now that you’re here, you refuse to integrate with this country’s rules and way of life. The problem is not the immigrants. The problem is with Canadian leaders, and the Canadians who elected and reelected them to office. I lived in Nova Scotia for just over 2 decades. I attempted to have many discussions about these issues and was shocked by the generally vapid responses I'd get. Much more to say, but the main point is that Canadians have destroyed their own country's quality of life and from what I can see, Canada is not worthy of respect as a nation. I take ZERO pleasure in saying this. However, the country should have provided the United States with a up close example of what a well run social democratic nation looks like. Instead, Canada is a joke to the far right and in fact fuels the far right in the US. Now with the global south amassing on the US's northern border (visit Halifax, NS if you have any questions about this), I view Canada as a threat to the USA - which is a nation with more than enough problems. A note to immigrants reading this: I respect many of you individually, and I do not in the least mind having you in my community. You as an individual are not the problem per se. Our government did this to us, specifically the liberal party with their rampant hubris and corruption. As someone who just turned 20, and watched my country get ruined by these people- I’ll not vote for for that party for MANY years until they start partaking in accountability and stop selling the birthright of our younger generation from right under us.

Michelle Rempel-Garner is a taxpayer funded politician that doesn't even live in her riding nor does she live in Canada, read about her in different forums and subreddits you will know how good of a politician she is. What she is doing here is trying to win votes by creating hate and divide and unfortunately people are blinded by hate to see it. She is not even letting the person answer before firing her next question, just getting half story and letting people speak to a point where she can use that to further push her parties ideology.

I am an Indian immigrant living on GTA. If I was forced to live in Brampton, I would rather go back to India than live in Brampton. The problem with Brampton is a subset of Indians that are easily recognizable and do not assimilate. Most of these specific subset come here as students and through family sponsorship ( not regular immigration stream). The students get false documents for their language and educational credentials. The politicians are also to blame for pondering for their votes. If there is one ethnic group that has the capacity to destroy Canada further in the future to a point of no return, it is this subset. Unfortunately most Canadians do not know this, and Indians as a general group are seen as the problem. Next time just ask them where in India these people are from, and soon you will know for yourself.
