Here is a aggressively neutral take as a Canadian elementary school teacher in an area with an extremely high Indian population (around half our school is ethnically Indian). It is also my own opinion, and some opinions on the internet suck: The good: Cultural integration IS possible (the Indian families are more into hockey than the white families where I live), tons of cross-cultural friendships, beautiful blend of cultural celebrations, top achievers are almost always second-generation immigrants, kids are growing up to love their parents' culture while also loving Canada's, many fantastic families who engage their children well and raise them very respectfully, religious temples that will feed an amazing meal to ANYBODY who walks into them (as long as you cover your hair), low rates of family trauma (drugs, abuse, divorce, etc.), families that take care of their elders The rough: Not all families are interested in being Canadian (some families just send their kids to Indian speaking private schools, live in Indian areas, and only seem to practice Indian ways of life - what's even the point?), many Indian families retreated into their home-lives during Covid which removed their children from integration opportunities, a very small percentage of the families are absolutely TERRIBLE at parenting and treat their sons and daughters with different levels of respect, multi-family households pay a single property tax which makes the contribution per taxpayer much smaller (while social benefits are equal to anybody else), some crime such as extortion and gang activity has been imported into the country, some individuals' disregard for rules and laws (setting fireworks on Diwali in the middle of a dry, grassy field is just plain stupid), some Indian communities seem to vote blindly for their own ilk during local elections without any regard for policy or experience, LMIA immigration program has been corrupted by the nepotism of bad actors and the greed of large corporations (wages can be federally subsidized which makes it cheaper to hire immigrants than the 16 year old down the street). Many of these families were simply making good choices for their own family, so don't blame the people themselves for this - blame the government that allowed it to fester unsustainably. I'll continue to stick up for the majority of these beautiful families though - haters be darned! Watching these kids grow up gives me some hope for humanity!

They want the opportunity this country offered that WE worked for but they want ti spit in our face while they take it and block us from getting our own countries benefits and bringing there own culture here to replace

They get 50k and then can apply for social benefits like other Canadians even though they’re NOT Canadians? Their kids go to public schools, and probably get free lunch and other things, at the benefit of tax payers. Asian immigrants are a different breed. The more chaos you have the more the government benefits, and politicians are not looking after the peoples best interest they’re looking at they’re looking after their own bloodlines best interest, and enriching themselves in building their own family wealth with our money instead of actually being a public servant. That is the problem. This is why you need a big revolution around the world to kill off all these people that have their bloodline in the system for a very long time and these politicians are not anyone new. These are all from the same bloodline that are still in the system, just look at the United States almost 90% of everyone in politics in our country is a former slave owner‘s bloodline. How did that happen for 250 years they’ve been in the same position that needs to change these people need to be killed off. They need to be gone down.

If they didn't bring their culture of being rude, obnoxious and disregard Canadian laws and etiquette maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but they also mass imported them to give companies cheap labor so they've taken a tonne of opportunity from Canadians, reduced the quality of our education system making domestic Canadians unlikely to get any employment and the students also exploit the system to work. They all need a place to live and many are exploiting the government for benefits on top of driving up housing prices because of the scarcity they're actively causing.

The Canadian Govt. must do something immediately - nobody must be swamped by immigrants- watching from India- just put a halt to the benefits and try to get the Govt. to pass laws that will stop the mad rush ! I can understand the anguish- I would not like to be a minority in my land!

Finally someone has covered this! This is the sad reality as to what's happening to Canada. The UK is the exact same. We are being outbred, our jobs are being taken away, and we are being overrun with them. Look at the Canadian government, that's how bad it has become. There are many of us who don't like this and don't want it, but there are many Canadians who are bleeding hearts and weak who just accept it. Well, you Quebec will regret soon, including your economy. These decisions don't work like that. There will be maybe short-term benefits that will turn out against your economy pretty soon. Immigration is a scam. There's very little, if any, economic benefit from immigration, and what benefit there is has been shown to almost always be captured by those who hired immigrants and the immigrants themselves, while passing on all the economic, social, and environmental burdens to our poor communities. Let's face it, immigration is a transfer of money from labor to capital it's about 3 things: profit, power, and punishment. We need to have an immigration moratorium. We also need to focus on re-migration for those who do not assimilate. Of course, none of this will happen until immigration becomes a problem for those at the top who have been pushing it down our throats for decades.

This country is full of colleges that hand out diplomas for everything. next thing you know, there’ll be a degree in ass-wiping, who is responsible ? Ministry of Education, Immigration or both? The CRA also needs to investigate the benefits some employers, especially large corporations, are abusing. They receive massive tax breaks for hiring students, yet some of these students barely work or are barely given shifts.

I had a lady who confessed to me that she was recommended by immigration to change to refugee status and avail benefits. She was Punjabi. Check who is manning Asylum department. They have to be fired. Brother and sister get married for immigration by Somalis

I have less rights as a Canadian in any other country than immigrants who come from those countries have here. In fact, I have less benefits in Canada than immigrants do here.

Who benefits ? Big companies which require a steady supply of low skilled labor . Recruiters , consultants, lawyers all get their cut . No regard for quality … just numbers, and society must deal with the dregs … similar to pollution by greedy corporations.
