The overwhelming problem that people struggle to realize is Canada with its roughly 40,000,000 people are going to notice an influx from a country that has over 1 billion and is quickly modernizing which is allowing families to leave their country and immigrant around the world just like they should. Localization is only prompted by friendly circumstances. It is seen everywhere with cultural neighborhoods

Why do people who haven't contributed anything to our society get anything while seniors and veterans struggle? Seniors built this country and veterans defended it. I get that we want to help but we can't save the whole world.

If you move to another country you need to be part of their culture and their way of life, speak their language and become one of them..but people love to move to Canada to take advantage of all the freedoms and continue doing what they are doing.

BC affordable housing used to be a wait of a few months at most, now it takes years, and yes they take people who just walked in to the country. Older Canadians and vulnerable people are not a priority. For that there are shelters, which are not homes, at all.

I think your title is incorrect, no political party is advocating for more immigration at the moment. The people who are advocating for more migration now have their own personal agendas, this does not represent the country as a whole. The country is not falling apart because of changes in immigration laws.

Our system depends on people having some sense of honesty and abiding by the rules. It is clear that some countries do not respect that.

When will people realise countries are more than just economic zones. History, culture, politics and economics all have a symbiotic relationship. Economics does not exist in a vacuum

Canada government has to frequently check all businesses owned by people who came to Canada and are Canadians by naturalization. Because, when they hire employees they hire their people no other people and if they hire outside their community they hire one or may be two. That is it. So businesses in canada have to be checked if the employees are from different country of orgin.

We have a serious unemployment crisis in this country that is particularly affecting young Canadians. The unemployment rate has been continuously going up over the last three years. It has now hit 7.1%, but the youth unemployment rate is really at catastrophic levels, at 14.5%. Many young people are desperately looking for jobs and are unable to find them.

I agree 100%..we are ALL brought here in hopes of a better life..which means one must assimulate to the countries belief systems and customes..while maintaning your own at the same time..assimulation is just respecting all people.

When you are in another country(even in their own country), please follow the rules and regulations of that place, be kind and friendly to the people there, and be respectful to their culture. One should have the civic sense to behave well in a community. ❤

These immigrants were scheduled to leave anyway. They were well aware of it. So, it is not based on new immigration rules. The government tried to force too many people into the country, causing a spike in housing prices and many other problems. This then affected every Canadian. A lot are becoming even poorer. It is one of the reasons they had more tent cities and 2 million people going to food banks along with 2/3 of Canadians with only 500.00 a month after all monthly bills were paid. That's 2/3 of Canadians. The Convoy had released these figures over a year ago at CPAC. CANADA does NOT HAVE a 'Housing Crisis". The housing crisis is in Vancouver & Toronto, because we let ALL the immigrants move there. But there are a thousand small towns across the country that need immigrants to stop from becoming ghost towns. The failure was in the Liberal Party deciding that getting the immigrant vote was how to win elections, so they let immigrants decide where to go, which didn't help the country. I should know.. I owned a 28-suite apt. block in Winnipeg (not even a small town!) and my property value dropped below the mortgage cost because more people were leaving Manitoba than entering at that time. I lost my block. Thanks, Liberal Party of Canada.

Heightened scrutiny undermines Canada's reputation as a welcoming destination? Isn't this the point? Meanwhile, lax policies allow too much abuse of our "wecoming" system. Finally, with the US tightening their borders, Canada will be the desired destination for North America, and our policies must prepare for this likely outcome. One last point is this: i would rather this country take care of the first nations peoples, the dispossessed, those marginalized within our society and our elderly who've contributed to this country's growth and prosperity but, due to one or another reason, dont have workplace pensions for retirement. Once we've sorted out our own peoples, seen properly to the needs of those who were actually born here, ensured our hospitals and schools are well funded, then we can look to service the needs of a migrant population.
