Canada calls students to give them PGWP after finishing their educations in Canada. The students pay ultra high education and life expenses. Then, Canada says we don’t need this much skilled worker as white collar, but you can works as uber drivers or Tim Hortons workers. The reason is Canadian youths don’t want to work in those odd jobs. However, Canadian people complain about the immigrant odd workers. They think economy is bad because of those immigrants who paid thousands of dollars for education and have been working in odd jobs. This is stupidity. Canada government exploits immigrant students by making them spend thousands for education and can only provide odd jobs for most of the immigrant students who hold PGWP work visa. Then some almost-racist Canadian folks stand against immigrants who have actually been exploited.

As you can tell from my name I am an immigrant from India. Been in this part of the world for almost 40 years. Educated from kindergarten with English as medium of instruction, a post graduate degree, in IT - one of the first things I did was watch, listen and learn how things are done here. Quickly acquired accent neutrality. Please and thank you . Not litter every where. I came here on my own. Nobody requested me to come here. I considered it a privilege and I took it as my obligation to integrate, not import my values or culture here. I worked, paid my taxes and never expected a handout from anybody or from the government. I loved to be the brown dot in a sea of white. I loved my new country. After the pandemic years, things have changed. There has been a sudden browning of Canada. I didn't leave India 40 odd years ago for India to come to me. NO, I am not being racist and it is not just the visual browning either. The loud, non English speaking, profusely littering, rude, entitlement-minded, anti-social, riffraff that seem to have found their way here displacing the native, white Canadians. I so miss the "eh". I miss the polite society. Wherever I go, I see a sea of immigrants speaking their own tongue. Rude, misbehaved. Cutting you off in line. Discarding the shopping cart any where they please. I am getting older every year and I do not want to die in a country that is suddenly so foreign to me. I would love my old Canada back, please. I want my "eh"s back please. I did my part in the last elections, but lost out to "them". Are we at a point, where we can never get the old Canada back??????

Most of the immigrants landing here in Canada are not boosting our economy but just becoming a liability taking the country backward rather than progress. Tye government should stop immigration including refugees, at least for a while. Not that I don’t want to help these people but we just dont have the resources for now to accommodate them. ‘m shocked to hear that 817,000 people landed in Canada. Add three zeros to it because these people pay at least a $1000 as administrative fee to government IRCC. So that is $817,000,000 Canadian Dollars. Close to a Billion. What is government doing with this money? No Government, we Canadians dont want that money in our GDP. He has enough natural resources that can sustain ourself. Stop selling cheap oil to US. And back to people who come here as immigrants. You are in a different country to have a new life. There is no point in protecting here in Canada about the things happening in your home country. Have some common sense. It’s just an other news for media. When you do such things, Canadian resource are wasted like cops have to make sure the protest goes peacefully and many more. People who are not part of it are getting affected. And to all immigrants please please please, speak in english. I know that you all are comfortable speaking in your native language. Speak that at your private place. Not in public place or work place. That is basic manners. Dont speak out loud in phone in public places. It’s not manners. Funny that people are asking to change the classes taught in French😂 This proves that they are not students but in disguise, as students. Here in Canada, to loot Canada and weaken the country. If you want class in english in a french speaking province better move out of Quebec.

I heard why the government did the immigrants wrong. I was talking to an uber driver and my pharmacist. They told me the promises of luxury in Canada has and offered for them to live a better lives. They didn't know after they came here for work and or college/university they become in major debt. They said that they're in a luxury debt and never getting out of debt knowing that they're stuck in Canada and can't be allowed to leave unless they pay off the debts. That's 100 % wrong to do that to people when they know they don't feel welcomed and want to go home. I'm a metis Canadian and I had to leave Ontario to find affordability and miss my home. GOVERNMENT THIS IS YOUR FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT! Let them go home in debt. You made this mess. FIX IT! Including the baby boomers that made the problem started 8 % rate interests to buy houses. That was a mistake that should be bought 1 house and nothing else. I forgot to add something. The uber driver told me that india doesn't know that it's a debt luxury trap that you can't leave unless you pay your debt. He felt alone and found some people and the internet to make himself feel better temporary. TEMPORARY! He hates it here, but he respects Canadians. He feels sorry for the new ones that are coming to become debt trap. It's the same for the pharmacy. She got into college to be a pharmacy and bought the store. She is on low income but doesn't qualify for any supports like benefits to pay off her medical things. The reason she can't because they'll see the pharmacy store is income. Wait what? So she doesn't quilify for benefits because she's making income to pay off her massive loan to do her job. It's not enough to live by as what she told me. She also does misses home, but also traped in luxury debt. This is what I have learned so far. I went through a car accident and coudln't get out of the car. I thought in Brampton, Ontario was the rudest people on the planet, but was saved by the angels of indian people saved me out of the vehicle from the smoke. I still thank you! There is still good people out there and some are stupid people out there. Keep it up because being kind gets you to be positive to others and make things better when the world is fcked right now.

As Canadian citizens we want our money back , this was the liberal government’s irresponsibility that caused this , we should not have to pay for their irresponsibility. The Biden administration opened their borders to spite trumps wall and the Canadian liberal party followed the same policy.

Very unfortunate. Hearing now that the Canadian government offers PR papers in different languages. Everywhere you go, you hear every language except for English & French. I want to be living in Canada. And not China, Japan, India, or the Philippines.

As a Canadian I think immigration is a good thing, but the liberal government has completely broken that system. Immigration has increased because the government needs more people for the economy. The population 25+ years ago was enough to keep with the costs and demand. Now, Canada probably has a lot of demand and needs an influx of people both for education and jobs. Indians are enticed to come because they hear about towns that cater towards Indians like Brampton. Chinese people used to be the majority of immigrants and that was because Chinatowns would cater to them. Not to mention, these immigrants likely have temporary worker or student visas. These an whole thing with the student visas but I don't want to get into it. So Amazon and other large companies need a lot of workers for their demand and look outside of Canada to fill the job numbers. Meanwhile, Canadians that have been here for awhile are on the streets and jobless. So basically, Canada needs immigration for its demand but I think when too many people come all at once and from usually one country, Canadians will notice the change and feel the tensions that come with it.

Ive been here for alist 10 years. here's the general Canadian narrative everyone says: "when we came we worked hard, but tge new commers don't want to work." it's a false argument based on assumption. i think the main problem is actually the fake students. it has to do with the government and not the people.

That’s what immigration law is supposed to do it’s supposed to impact foreigners. Then there is the let’s get people to work cheaper than Canadians do and then wonder why Canadians aren’t taking those jobs . Can Canadians just be concerned about Canadians sometimes ? A. I'm a born and raised Canadian, as well as my husband. Even before our country was completely taken over, employment was hard to come by because of the fw's. 8 years ago, my husband had enough with trying to find a job, he stopped counting at over 450 resumes that were ignored, so he decided that we should start our own company, a small delivery company that 2 years later, we added a safe ride service to (driving drunk people home in their own vehicle). I was the manager of a little pizza place, which was run by immigrants, but good ones. I was hired because my husband approached them about doing deliveries, and they wanted to meet me. I had no idea I was going for an interview but they begged me to work for them, their reason; although they could speak English, they weren't fluent in it, so they wanted an English speaking employee who could easily understand the customer's. Within days, I was promoted to manager, and I loved my job and all of them. They treated everyone with such kindness and generosity. I found out just how much support they got from our government, when I broke down one day because I couldn't afford my prescription. My boss was so confused because he and his family got free prescriptions, dental, eye care, etc and they thought everyone got that. My boss paid for my prescription and actually apologized to me for how our own government treated us. He also showed me that they get $2,500 every 2 weeks, funding to start or buy businesses, but if they don't hire other fw's or immigrants, that funding changes to a grant and they have to pay it back. They are given money for housing, and vehicles. He was pushed out of that business by his 2 partners, and the partner's promised him I would keep my job. That was a complete lie. They stopped putting me on the schedule, claiming financial problems (bs), but hired not one but two new full time immigrant employees. I lost it and quit. Our town isn't that big, and word spread fast, especially when everyone found out that I was still owed over $2,000, which I will never see because no government agency will help me. Their business is actually struggling now and I love that for them. As for my husband and I's business, it's going strong but I came unglued when we recieved a letter from the government "suggesting" that we hire immigrants. I wrote back, telling them in no uncertain terms would that ever happen, and it will be a cold day in hell when one of us steps back so one of the government's favored people can take that money from us because we are the only 2 employees and we're not sacrificing a damn thing for someone who already gets everything.

Unplanned immigration policy of present government is causing problems like employment housing and also in some extent in culture. * Government is not encouraging entrepreneurs in creating labor oriented manufacturing companies. Companies those employing more labor should be less taxed. BYE CANADIAN Only. HI TAX for imported goods. * Build thousands condominiums by government and rent them to low income people. Decentralized from major cities. * Lower the TAX like USA * Implement Health insurance like USA. Easy Medical loan who needed. * Women should be encouraged to take babies and raise kids for population growth. Increase child benefits and handsome pregnancy award to give birth. Maternity benefits for 3 years. * Culture is freedom of choice on one hand and it should be practiced in private places or in closed boundaries. There should not be any national culture or majority culture. All should respect each other and don't try to impose anything to others. So no public display or disturbances by culture issues. * Omitting bilingual system of English French. It's very stupidity. In office or workplaces ONLY English Please. Quebec only French. Not both. Government language only English. In private places you speak anything but outside only English. It could be broken English but English. It's important. The solutions are in front of us, government don't want to act

This is an immigration and refugee lawyer who owns a law firm and actively represents refugees/asylum seekers and immigrants from other countries who want not wish to become fully Canadian citizens My very important question to her As the principle Is how are you paid for your legal services and representation Lawyers always tell me they can be referred to by Law society of Canada For a 30 minute free legal consultation But once that is paid out by that association that is where lawyers and para legal professionals pay dues to join Then it’s up to those professionals to charge Hourly fee flat rate And All additional charges associated with the file/case law once opened and documents signed So how much does it cost to 1. Refugees claims 2. Asylum seekers claims 3. Immigration claims 4. Detainee claims 5. Deportation claims in the form of Appeals How many can they have Who pays these professionals? When media such as CBC Also government employees who are paid by the federal government Do not ask these questions Which are again Paid to NGOs By us poor taxpayers!!!!! Towards these professionals who represent economic migration and only cost us Canadians more money

In the US in 2025, ICE has deported half a million who are not in the US legally, and an estimated additional 1.5 million have self-deported, in some cases with government financial incentives. So 50k deportations might represent a comparably active effort for Canada, and 18k might be creditable for a Liberal government. But the effort sounds rather bureaucratic, and focused only on rejected refugee applications. I would want to know how many of these "deportations" are entirely on paper -- "your application has been rejected, please let yourself out at your earliest convenience." They spent roughly $5k per deportee, and that would cover air fare if the deportations were done privately, but adjudication costs money, and governments find many ways to make everything much more expensive. Also, if refugee claims can be judged false or inadequate, where are the efforts to determine whether "students" are really students? By the same token, the world is a dangerous place. I figure all those living in any of the many violent inner-city neighborhoods in the US have reason to fear for their lives. Similar facts are true of many millions around the world, and most of them would be rejected by Canadian immigration because they'd be safe if they simply moved to places they can't afford.

Totally agreed. If you want to maintain your culture then do not migrate. But whose fault is this? Canada and some other western countries give too much freedom to immigrants to do whatever they want. So people started keep practicing their own culture instead of adopting the Canadian culture. It's not their fault. That's human nature. Government should have controlled the immigration not letting large ethnic groups created within Canada.

This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Their policies (on paper) seem great, and geared more towards a 'Canada first'/'Canadians First' approach. They touch on a lot of topics and there seem to be a lot of things they want to change! But a government is still a government, they will be motivated by money regardless of any good intentions they may have. So if and when things change, WE NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! We as the citizens have the power to change things for the better! It's just unfortunate that I see so many people getting pushed down or ignored or hated because they are speaking their mind. Remember, Canada dosen't have laws like the US, our freedoms aren't as protected nor do we have the same freedoms they do (like owning and protecting your own property, or self defense!) We as people need to start being honest and expressing things instead of being terrified of the backlash (of which there will be in these times). The only way we can make progress is by deciding to get out of our comfort zones and standing for what is right! For the freedoms and protections we deserve! To make a future worth living for us and our children! It will not be easy, but when is change ever easy? I hope that one day I won't be terrified of the thought of bringing a life into this world and country. I hope I can be stable enough to be able to give my future children a decent life. But right now? I would never want to have children, things are too unstable and I don't want to bring a child into this country and force them to live a terrible life they never asked for! I desperately want to be able to keep hoping for a better future, a better country, and people who can enjoy their lives instead of constantly worrying and stressing about everything. I hope some can consider looking into the Libertarian party as well! They may be small right now, but they seem to be wanting to right the wrongs that have occured.

Before Trudeau's liberal government, Canada's permanent resident program was based on factors such as being fluent in English or French (in Quebec), passing standard exams in one's own country, being educated (Bachelor's or higher), work experience, family, age, and knowledge of Canada's general culture. If you had all the points, you would be selected. It took about three years, and while waiting, you could not apply for any visa to enter Canada. The security check was part of the process, and the Canadian government asked applicants to enter the country by bringing money (Like one year's salary). This system was a perfect plan, and many Western countries wanted to copy that (As I heard on many French and American radios before), but the liberals broke the system! And I still don't know why!

I came here 25 years ago from India. While growing up, I would go to the terrace of my home and turn the antenna to get Cbc at night. I watched Air Farce One, the green show, NFB and Cbc and was always fascinated with Canada. I knew then when I was 20 that I will make Canada home. I wrote my IELTS ENGLISH test, studied here with good grades. And I did. I have an amazing career and young kids. And I have loved everyday of it. I have watched rerun of trailer park boys about 10 or so times already, watched Corner gas, watch hockey, I have embraced the weather, the people and the values this nation stands for. I have travelled coast to coast and to the great north. Heck I have been to more places in Canada with my job than other Canadians who are born and raised here. Now all I see there these ignorant, entitled effs thinking they can come and change the way of life. Like how Don Cherry said, they want the milk and honey but won't respect the values. I am effing done with this immigration and the government. Steven Harper was the prime minister when I got my citizenship and it was the proudest moment of my life. I really hope Canadians wake up. I know exactly why the racism has gone up and I don't blame the Canadians at all. These clowns bought it on to themselves. I just had enough and wish things would back to how it was 20 or so years ago.

I see no chance to get PR and extend my expiring visa. Government just keep inviting the French speakers.
