First it was the Irish immigrants they hated; now we celebrated St Patrick's Day. Then it was the Germans; now we celebrated Oktoberfest. Then the Italians 'invaded' New York; now it's pizza and pasta in Little Italy. Then it was the Chinese; now every city has a Chinatown. Then it was the Japanese who we sent to camps in the 40s; now we drive their cars. Then it was the Vietnamese they hated because they were fleeing war; now we get a $15 haircut from the woman at the mall. Then it was the Mexicans; now we eat the food from the farms they work at. Then it was the Arabs; now we're fighting for their statehood. Then it was the Koreans; now we have their appliances in our kitchens and cell phones in our hands. Now it's the South East Asian's turn at discrimination and the labelling of those "very dirty people." You'll get over it soon enough and become friends with the Pakistani restaurant owner down the street, or you'll move to Woodstock and enjoy your cultural homogeneity, before the next wave of "others" from some new place around the world threatens your sense of 'I was here first' mentality and ownership of being Canadian. FFS!

I by no means am racist, I'm First Nations & I've pretty much had it. India is not our #1 culture here in Canada, I hate calling a store & the person on the other end can not speak english, it's the most frustrating thing. My g/f daughter applied @ a tim Horton's & get this one, do you speak Punjabi-honest to god - enough. Subway, 7-11's, gas stations, Value Village etc. everywhere you turn. They can be rude no not all but again if I have to ask you 3 times the same question because I do not understand your answer - we have a problem. The minister was probably chosen specifically because she was inept and wouldn't know what was going on in her department; that reduces the likelihood that anyone would be turned away a while longer. As Lorrie said - just like my Political Science professor pointed out almost 50 years ago - immigrants largely vote for whoever was in power when they arrived in the country. A very large percentage of the people that they bring into the country under a Liberal government are likely to vote Liberal. That's a (practically) guaranteed stream of new Liberal voters to replace the old Liberal voters who have become disillusioned by the Liberal Party's actions. It has to stop. We need to vet EVERYONE who comes in and we shouldn't be giving them gold-plated health care until we've granted them refugee status or permanent residency and they should be told that up front so no one is shocked or feels cheated. If they know that and still come, they'll know what they're facing. If they choose not to come, they've made an informed decision.

The east Indian problem has gotten extremely bad where I am in Canada they keep buying businesses and then firing all the white people but if you call it out, you're racist like, I'm getting turned down when I hand out resumes, because I'm white and I was born in Canada its bad they're taking all the student jobs and then buying the businesses where students are working and then firing the students i'm no longer in school, so it's even harder to find a job. It's gotten to the point where if you want a job you need to work for yourself. They're even taking jobs in the trades so now people are having to work for themselves under-the-table and launder their money the average median income in Canada is anywhere from $45000 to $50000 a year the average house costs $673,335 the average household only makes $80000 a year i used to dream about having my own home and starting a family now I just hope I can find an apartment for less than $2000 a month that isn't owned by a slum Lord living in Toronto that's bought the property without ever even being to Smiths Falls a day in their life.

As an Indian myself, I wouldn't want any country to turn into India.

The entire white western world is turning against non white immigrants. It is a cultural universal that all people wish to live within their own communities where they feel safe because they see their neighbours as their own kith and kin. People want to live among other people who have very similar behaviours and cultural values. White western culture has been very welcoming of non white immigration, but not to the extent that the whites feel that they are being diluted out of existence by the mass immigration of foreign minorities. Especially when those minorities have no intention of assimilating in in any way, are offensive towards the white population, and engage in serious criminal behaviour.

Honestly, all of this has turned me racist. I gave no patience for these people anymore.
