I am an African with a Master’s degree in Communication Studies, and I can bet you bike guy doesn't have a high school diploma, but he wants to talk about the intelligence level of all Africans? I've written two books and contributed a chapter to a compendium on journalism in West Africa. While I agree that many of the Africans going to Canada are from war-torn countries without a good education, he speaks of Africa like it's a monolith. Realities in Ghana aren't same as in Ethiopia. South Africa isn't same as Rwanda nor is Senegal same as Madagascar so unless he is referring to individual countries with specific examples, his claims don't even make any sense. I consider myself International( 3ed generation Canadian) because I spent half of my life working in many countries. Now that my children graduated, I have moved them to an east European country where all my values and beliefs are still intact. I will be leaving Canada soon with a very sad heart, in my mind I will keep the Canada that I once loved. THIS IS ALL PLANNED it's not a mistake !! The countries in EU that don't allow for mass immigrants are being targeted, sanctioned, fined in the billions and are forcing to oust the governments ( Hungary, Slovakia, Poland etc )!! If Canadian government wanted a high birth rate than it should have given the money that they spend on new immigrants to Canadian mothers in order to stay home and have more kids. Lot of people....the original citizens feel the burn since the world around them is changing. It's natural that they harbor these ill feelings. You have Irish immigrant towns, little Italy's, China towns, little India's, polish neighborhoods in Chicago etc ...these kind of neighborhoods are all over north America (USA & Canada). This is natural. Assimilation happens in 1 or 2 generations. Economic expansion and fulfilling social security benefits for the older generation needs population growth and a new younger workforce. This is achieved thru immigration of skilled labor force of all kinds. Population dynamics and demographics keep changing all the time and it has happened thru out human history. Now we are living in an interconnected and inter dependent world. It's better to adapt to change and move on and retain your loyalty to the country they migrated to and contribute positively to their economy and try to assimilate as much as possible and be aware of the sensitivities. I grew up with integration that I LOVED, met people from all over the world. I've been working since I was 14 I've worked for people from all over the world , rented from different people since I was 18 and learned great things I can add to my construction or cooking repertoire that you could possibly couldn't learn in the West without diversity. BUT now we have a group of people coming here buying up businesses while only hiring people from their country buying up single homes putting up crammy 8 plexus, and only renting to people from their home country. To be honest this is something all political party’s from across the spectrum agree with in Canada at the moment, we literally have no housing . We the Canadian Tax payer have been footing rbe bill to keeo these immigrants/ refugees in rather nice 3/4 Hotles for the last few years . I’m a farmer who lives in the county but the closest city to where I live is Windsor and for the last 4 ish year the Government was hosting them in Five Hotel's across the city . It got to the point where it was cheaper for the government to BUY the hotels then rent all the rooms , so that’s what they did … No I’m all for helping people but that is kinda pushing it don’t you think ? There are no jobs for them , no homes for them , etc . We have been in a trade war for the last 2 years with the two largest economies in the world and we need to focus our economic power on thous conflicts at the moment and if the world like it or not fighting that is out top priority and everything else comes second .Even with out that fact Our former government overloaded what our ability’s where capable of handling . We have a pretty advanced social care network but these new folks who have never payed a dime into it and are living off of it for years with the government having no real plan on how to deal with it is just to much , with our with out the economic conflict we are currently in . 🇨🇦 I disagree with premise that only "high skill" immigrants should come. Economies need ALL types of workers & those low skill jobs have to be done by someone. According to free trade economics, open borders would maximize world GDP. As for housing market, why not let housing be more mobile & smaller, tiny homes.
